An Atlanta Police officer has been suspended without pay after testing positive for methamphetamine. The department began testing its officers after over 25 pounds of meth went missing from the evidence room after a recent bust in Gwinnett County.
Officer Karen Stark was the only officer in the department to test positive for any narcotic and it so happened to be the one in question. According to the department’s Sargent, the amounts of meth in officer Stark’s blood was so high, she had to have been high during the examination.
At this time, no charges have been filed against Karen since there have been no physical traces of the missing drugs found.
